Why Amazon doesn’t allow custom wallpapers on Kindle?

I was thinking that all digital devices should be able to change wallpaper, you know, that’s such a basic feature.

After bought my first Kindle, I was so surprised that I can’t add custom wallpapers to it.

Is there any reason?

The most important reason: Amazon sells ads on "wallpaper", or many people also call it "screensaver".

If you want to add custom wallpaper, the only chance is to jailbreak it. You can search jailbreak kindle in this blog, there are several guide articles about it.
