Can I use Kindle Fire as a remote control of my laptop?

I connected my laptop with HDMI cable to my bedroom TV to watch Netflix, but it was very inconvenient to switch movies out of bed.

I have a Kindle Fire in hand, may I use the Kindle Fire as the remote control of my laptop, so that I don’t have to get out of bed to switch movies.
