How to view websites in desktop mode with Fire HD Silk browser?

The Silk browser on my Fire HD 8 always opens pages as mobile, but I strictly prefer the desktop view.

Can I make the Kindle Fire HD browser always open new pages in desktop view?

Here is how to change the settings: Go into the Browser and select “Menu” > “Settings” and change the “Desktop or mobile view” setting to “Desktop”.
