My Kindle can only work when plugged in, how to solve it?
♥ 0 | It’s the first generation Kindle Paperwhite, which was bought when I traveled to Japan. When I plugged it in, it works normally, I can read books, change settings, turn off/on the device. But when I plug out, the screen just freezes, it doesn’t react to any operation of mine. But when I charge it again, it back to normal. So what’s the problem? Marked as spam

Private answer Obviously, your Kindle's battery is almost dead, you can replace the battery by contacting Amazon custom support, however I don't know if Amazon can take care of the first generation. Or you can replace the battery yourself, here is the guide: https://www.ereader-palace.com/how-to-replace-battery-for-kindle-ereader-and-fire-tablet/ You can also just buy the latest generation of Kindle Paperwhite: https://amzn.to/2Vt7sFG If the books in the Kindle are bought from Amazon, you can retrieve them once you log in the account on a new Kindle. If the books are sideloaded, you can connect Kindle to computer and copy the books to computer for back up. Marked as spam |
