Can Kindle work in sub-zero temperature?

I’m going to spend two weeks in pretty north area, which has a sub-zero temperature. I wonder if my Kindle can work in such a cold place?

According to the official document, Kindle can work from 0°C to 35°C.

However, I used to take my Kindle to a cold place which is almost -5°C. It still works, but the screen became very very dumb.

And sub-zero temperature is harmful to Kindle’s battery.

So all in all, I do not recommend you take Kindle with you to such a cold place.
