Water-proof Cases for Kindle Voyage and Kindle Paperwhite

On April 13, Amazon released the latest and most expensive Kindle, the Kindle Oasis. The most eye-catching feature is water-proof.

To be honest, I don’t think the water-proof feature worth $200 (which is the price difference between Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Oasis).

So what if you are using a Kindle Paperwhite or Kindle Voyage, and want it to be waterproof? You needn’t pay $289.99 to upgrade to Kindle Oasis. Instead, you can just buy a waterproof case for your Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Voyage.

Update on 2017.05.30

A company called WaterFi now provides waterproof Kindle. You can pay $230 for a waterproof Kindle Paperwhite, or $99 for a waterproof service if you’ve already got a Kindle Paperwhite.

Redpepper Kindle Paperwhite Case

This case can keep your Kindle Paperwhite safe in 2-meter deep water. Besides the water-proof feature, this case is also able to protect your Kindle from dirt or shock.

There is actually a glare from the screen, but not so bad,  you can still see read on your Kindle.

However, I don’t think there are many people reading on Kindle under water. With this case we just don’t need to worry about spills or picking it up with wet hands.

There are 9 colors for this case, when I write this post, this case’s price is $24.69

Buy options:

SwimCell Waterproof Kindle Case

Here we have SwimCell 100% Waterproof tablet case in the small size measuring 6×8.5 inches. This fits Kindle Paperwhite, Voyage, Oasis and other smaller kindles. For the Kindle HD 10 Fire you will need the large size case. The SwimCell is tested to 20m underwater and certified IPX8, not that we’d suggest taking it that far down, but if you did drop it in the bath tub or swimming pool it would be absolutely fine.

It’s good quality plastic and feels durable and strong. The touch screen is easy to use through the case which makes it perfect for protecting the screen from kids sticky fingers, splashes in the kitchen, wet fingers in the bathtub or sand on the beach.

The clamp is strong and secure with 2 easy to use locking wheels. It has a very long adjustable neck strap which makes it easy to carry over your shoulder or around your neck for extra security from dropping it.

We love that it comes in 3 colours; classic black, white and aqua blue.

Catherina Waterproof Kindle Paperwhite Case

Same as the previous two cases, but much cheaper, with only $19.99 you can get it. And I don’t see any quality difference from product description and user reviews. So I would recommend this one among these three cases.

Buying options:

iThrough Kindle Paperwhite Waterproof Case

This case comes only in black color, as to the rest it looks like a copy of other water-proof cases.

It sold as $21.99, don’t bother another choice.

Decrescent Universal Waterproof eReader Protective Case Cover for Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Voyage

Actually this case is not exclusively designed for Kindle, it can contain any 7-inch device, so including almost all generations of Kindle, even Kobo and tablets.

With this case, you can also touch the Kindle’s screen normally.

What’s more, it costs only $7.99, really worth considering.
